Hi, I've been asked to write a short article on phobias and obviously want to include NLp fast phobia cures. What I am looking for is people who have gone through the process who would be willing to let me have quotes to use in the article. Feel free to PM me if you can help.
Many thanks

Nick Kemp is your man. He does features on this on BBC Local radio in the Leeds area. I'm sure Nick would have lots of useful information for you to add.

Love,

Martin

Hi Jean

For my whole life (that I can remember) I was really scared of spiders.  I couldn't have one in the room with me and I couldn't get close enough to them to remove them from the house.  I have spent nights sleeping on the sofa because there was a spider in the bedroom, or evenings in the bedroom when there was a spider in the sitting room.  It was pretty bad.

Then, on the NLP Practitioner course, we had 'phobia day'.  My partner for the exercise took me through the phobia cure and at the end of it I handled the BIG spider (which was actually furry and lovely)!

I also learned that I must be a polar responder as I immediately went in the opposite direction and loved spiders.  They really are sweet.  I have some really big spiders living happily in my house and they don't bother me at all.  I like to go into the garden and study spiders on their webs, and I apologise to them if I have to move them for some reason.

At the beginning I noticed that if a spider dashed across the floor, I would scream and feel panicky, and then realise that I wasn't scared of them any more and be fine.  I realised I was automatically behaving in the way I always had and I had to teach myself to stop doing that as I really wasn't scared of them any more.

I have also lost my fear of all sorts of creepy crawlies and am just fascinated by them now.  And I've become the one in the house who carefully removes these little creatures if necessary.

I feel a huge relief that I am no longer scared of small creatures and it has spread to making me braver and less scared of all sorts of things in life.  I'm still amazed that I could get rid of a life-long fear in a few minutes.  Awesome!

So, a big thank you to my partner on phobia day and to Paul and the team for teaching me this.

Sophie

PS  With my help, my partner on the day got rid of his phobia too.

Hi Sophie,
thanks for taking the time to tell us about your experience. I love the ffact that you know love spiders. That is something that I'd not heard about before. I'd always assumed that if you got rid of a phobia it just no longer bothered you.

Would you be OK if I quoted your experience? I will, of course, let you have a copy if it gets printed.

I have literally cured hundreds of phobias. In 2006 I cured 22 different phobias live on the radio over 26 weeks. We only had an hour to cure and test each one and some people had the phobias for up to 50 years. When you have 50,000 people listening in it certainly focusses the mind! Cheesy
Some of the radio clips are on www.tranceformingnlp.com as downloads for anyone interested

I use a combination of a number of different approaches which I call "Provocative Change Works" and this approached is detailed on the new DVD set that can be found on www.human-alchemy.net with explanations of what I am doing. Its a really muli layered approach that produces quite excellent results

I rarely even use the fast phobia cure these days (but still reach it on our certificated NLP Prac trainings)and am looking forward to next weekend when I'll be dropping by the London Bandler Prac on phobia day to help out! Hopefully we'll have some good phobics on the course!
