Who do I turn to?

Hi all,

What's the difference between the following:

1. Psychologist
2. Psychiatrist
3. Therapist
4. Counsellor
5. Life Coach

I need some professional help about my life - past, present and future. I feel lost and am periodically down because of past and present events and decisions. And I don't see a very satisfactory future because of this. I sometimes wonder if there are chemical imbalances in my brain that gives me a compulsive tendency. I also wonder if my negative attitude to life is due to my upbringing or current environment - which hasn't changed since childhood. I am approaching 40 and feel stuck all my life.

Where I am from, a Life Coach is probably not available unless you sign up for some motivational or NLP programs, which are financially beyond my means now. I know I can get a subsidized rate for psychologist, psychiatrist or counsellor but I wonder if these are the right recourses for me.

Who should I see for help? Thanks for advice.

This is just a quick hello, your past as very little to do with your now, it may seem like it is   the cause, as someone who has had a really, really tough upbringing, then if I can get my stuff together, then anyone can.
